Not Another Political Blog: Best of 2016

Yeah, it's trite to state that 2016 was a horrible year. But I want to state for the record that I knew that it was horrible early. :) Prior to this year I was almost always healthy. Well, on January 3 I had severe tinnitus for the first time in both of my ears; it lasted for a couple of weeks (almost certainly the most torturous thing that I've experienced). Then I had almost monthly health issues that ranged from moderate problems to a large cyst on the side of my nutsack and the most severe food poisoning that I've ever experienced.
Earlier this month my last living grandparent died. She was the third of four of my grandparents who died of Alzheimer's disease. So in addition to all of the fun of my oldest relatives dying, I have the warm reminder that I and/or my parents will almost certainly have dementia eventually. Life is beautiful.
And, needless to say, 2016's twin killing of Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds in the most obscene fashion imaginable was the diarrhea meringue on the shit cake.
Now it's onto my "Best Of" list...
