Back to the Future MANIA

This month we are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the release of the first (and best) Back to the Future movie.

They are also going to release a special edition Back to the Future Blue Ray collection during October 26. It will include the never-before-shown-to-public rejected scenes of Eric Stoltz as Marty McFly. For people who might not know: Stoltz was originally chosen to play Michael J. Fox's role. They shot 1/3(?) of the movie with him. When director Robert Zemeckis and producer Steven Spielberg watched Stoltz's footage they realized that they had committed a horrible error.

I remember when I watched Back to the Future for the first time VERY distinctly. The clock on the Delorean in the movie reads, "October 26, 1985," which was also the day during which the movie was released. Well, I had recently turned 8 because my birthday was October 27. I remember that even at that age I understood all of its content, and I believed that it was a perfect movie. Now, almost exactly 25 years and many months worth of screenwriting classes under my belt later, I know that it really was in fact almost structurally perfect.
