Since the inception of this annual list, I've maintained a male/female actor dynamic in this category. Although I admired J Lo in "Hustlers" and Scarlett Johansson in "Marriage Story," I must state that this year was a sausage fest.

Note: I haven't seen "1917" yet because I don't live in L.A. anymore, so I didn't have access to an advance screening. Although I love to read about World War 1, and I probably know more about it than 99% of Americans, based on the things that I've read about it I doubt that it tops my #1 selection for this year.
