NOT a "big fucking deal"

Goldman states my thoughts exactly here:

Weeknights Midnight to 3

Let's face facts: The ONLY reason this bill passed was because the President and Congress gave the corporate interests what they wanted. The insurance companies got no public option; no Medicare buy-in, no breaking of their monopoly - BUT 32 million new customers COMPELLED TO DO BUSINESS WITH THEM, and implicit guarantees of massive (and growing) federal subsidies; the drug companies got no negotiation of prescription drug prices and gave back a paltry $8 billion per year; hospitals got no public option, no expansion of Medicare BUT expanded Medicaid and Medicare payments.

It's MASSIVE CORPORATE WELFARE and that's why it passed. There will be NO PUBLIC OPTION or other PRO-CONSUMER changes anytime in my lifetime. I hope I am wrong, but I fear I am right!

Right now, the Senate CAN PASS A PUBLIC OPTION! Will they? No, because the fix is in.
