People who live in L.A. and listen to talk radio know that during KLSX's last broadcasts, Frosty Heidi and Frank asserted that Tom Leykis caused the station's destruction because he refused to take a pay cut.
I asked him, "Is is true that Tom Leykis sank KLSX?"
"Sank?... I'm not sure about 'sank,' but you remember how he was always saying 'I'm the best; I'm #1; I'm at the top?'"
"Right."
"Well, when the electronic ratings came in we learned that he was actually #23 or something. By that time, though, it was too late for the station because they had already negotiated a huge contract with him. I don't know if his contract contributed to the destruction of the station, though."
Allow me to speculate: probably.
As Carolla spoke to me he was maybe one foot away from my face. I was in awe because I consider him a god of the entertainment world.
