Oil Spill? Try Nuclear Disaster

So apparently the "top kill" effort is failing. Major surprise. Major tragedy.

Literally weeks before this entire accident occured, the media (I mostly watch MSNBC) assured us, "The Exxon thing will never occur again because technology has improved so much."
Aaaaaaaaaaaand of course even as they were saying it I was thinking, "Bull. Fucking. Shit. GE talking point #1."
Also, our grandparents said to us, "thank god The Great Depression could never happen again. There are too many safeguards in place now." ....Yeah. No.

SO now when I think about this stupendously stupid push for more nuclear power plants I hear people saying, "technology has improved so much since Chernobyl. It could never happen again."

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

Could you imagine if we put the Gulf gush in nuclear terms?: "It's day 40 of this radiation spew in New York with no end in sight. People have almost entirely evacuated the east coast now."

As Joe Rogan likes to say, "anything that you can imagine is inevitable."
