Watch the video that was posted on this link. They are poking fun at Anderson Cooper's inability to answer that question.
But my deeper concern is... wtf- none of you idiots could think of a living author from that era? Almost everyone who has an I.Q. of at least 120 would have guessed Mark Twain if they didn't know the answer.
Apparently Anderson Cooper couldn't think of a single author.
Aisha Tyler guessed Faulkner. I'm not an historian, but I knew that Faulkner wasn't even a sperm cell during 1890.
Cheech Marin guessed Stephen King. No comment.

And they wonder why "Celebrity Jeopardy" looks like "The Jay Walk All Stars" when it is portrayed on Saturday Night Live....
